Perimeter of a rectangle = 2 x (Length + Width)
Let width = w cm.
Then the perimeter = 2(20 + w) = (40 + 2w) cm.
By problem this perimeter has to be greater than 86 cm.
So, 40 + 2w > 86.
2w > 86 - 40
2w > 46
w > 23
So, the width has to be more than 23 cm.
