Question 147215: The annual cost (C) for removing percentage (p) of toxins from water supply is given by the formula:
C(p) = 500,000/100-p
Determine the cost for removing 99.5% of the toxins.
I got C = 2,000,000/199, obviously wrong. I don't know how to input the percentage into the formula. I used 99.5, what should I be putting in?
Thank you for the help!!

You can put this solution on YOUR website! C(p) = 500,000/(100-p)
.
for 99.5%
C(99.5) = 500,000/(100-99.5)
C(99.5) = 500,000/(.5)
C(99.5) = 500,000/(.5)
C(99.5) = $1,000,000
