Set up a ratio.
7 gallons is to 200 miles as x gallons is to 1300 miles.
Mathematically, that is,
7%2F200=x%2F1300
x=1300%2A%287%2F200%29
x=45.5
To the nearest gallon, that would be 46 gallons.

for 200 miles he need=7 gallon
fop 1 mile he will use=7/200
for 1300 he will use=(7*1300)/200
=7*6.5
=45.5 gallon
