Then the length will be 2 + 3x
Now we know that
Perimeter = 2(Length + Breadth)
Substituting the given perimeter 100 in the above equation would give us :
100 = 2(2+3x+x)
100 = 4 + 6x + 2x
100 = 4 + 8x
100-4 = 12x
12x = 96
x = 96/12
x= 8 = width
Length = 2 + 3x = 2 + 3(8) = 2 + 24 = 26
Answer: the length of the rectangle is 26 while the width is 8.
