You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x%2B3=-2%2Fx Start with the given equation

x%2Ax%2Bx%2A3=cross%28x%29%28-2%2Fcross%28x%29%29 Multiply every term by the LCD x to clear the fractions

x%5E2%2B3x=-2 Simplify

x%5E2%2B3x%2B2=0 Get all terms to the left side.

%28x%2B2%29%28x%2B1%29=0 Factor the left side (note: if you need help with factoring, check out this solver)

Now set each factor equal to zero:
x%2B2=0 or x%2B1=0

x=-2 or x=-1 Now solve for x in each case

So our answers are

x=-2 or x=-1
