SOLUTION: The sum of a number and its square is 30. Find the number.
I need not only the answer but the method of how it is solved.
This is what I think the method is X + 30= Xsqu

You can put this solution on YOUR website! It's
Put into quadratic form, it's
This can be factored into (x + 6)(x - 5), so x is 5 and x is -6. Both work.

x- the number
the formula would be like this:
X^2+x=30
transpose 30:
X^2+x-30=0
then., i call this nxt step trial and error.,
(x+6)(x-5)=0
to get the equation., follow this steps
1. extract the square root of the first term., (x )(x )=0
2. think of factors of thr third term which will be equl to the numerical coefficient of the second term.,(x+6)(x-5)=0
last step would be... equate each binomial to zero to get the values of x...
x+6=0
x=-6
x-5=0
x=5
that's it! the values of x are: 5 & -6
i hope u understood it., god bless!
