Question 146677: Write an equation of the line containing the given point and parallel tothe give line.
(-4, 8)
This is what I have gotten so far.
3x=7y+6
3x-7y=6
subtract 3x from both sides
-7y=-3x+6
divided boths sides by -7
y=3/7x-6/7
y-8=(3/7)(x-(-4))
y-8=(3/7)(x+4)
and this is where I am stuck. Am I even doing this right?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
yes you are right
y-8=(3/7)(x+4) then
y-8=(3/7)x+(3/7)4
y-8=(3/7)x+(12/7)
y=(3/7)x+(12/7)+8
y=(3/7)x+(12/7)+(56/7)
y=(3/7)x+(68/7)
