Question 145511: 1)Find the inverse of the function f(x)=8x+16
This is my answer and I am not sure if it is correct.
x-16
------ = y
8
2) write y=x^5 in log form
my answer log y=5
x
3) solve the system of linear equation:2x+3y=-5 and y=2x+9
my answer
2x+3(2x+9)=-5
2x+6x+27=-5
8x+27=-5
8x=-32
x=-32/-8
x=-4

y=2(-4)+9
y=-8+9=1
(-4,1)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1)Find the inverse of the function f(x)=8x+16
This is my answer and I am not sure if it is correct.
x-16
------ = y
8
-------
Interchange x and y to get:
(y - 16)/8 = x
y-16 = 8x
y = 8x + 16
That is the inverse.
------------------------

2) write y=x^5 in log form
logx (y) =5

------------------------
3) solve the system of linear equation:
2x+3y=-5
y=2x+9
---
my answer
2x+3(2x+9) = -5
2x+6x+27 = -5
8x+27=-5
8x=-32
x=-32/-8
x=-4
--------
y=2(-4)+9
y=-8+9=1
(-4,1)
Good work
