You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Brandon can do 1/3 per hour
Hasan can do 1/5 per hour
Together they can do 1%2F3+%2B+1%2F5 = 5%2F15+%2B+3%2F15 = 8%2F15 per hour
Do do a whole house they will need
8%2F15+%2A+t+=+1+
t+=+15%2F8 hours

If it takes Brandon 3 hours to paint a house, he can paint 1%2F3 of a house in an hour. Likewise, Hasan can paint 1%2F5 of a house in an hour. Together, they can paint 1%2F3%2B1%2F5 house in an hour. Add the fractions and then take the reciprocal of the answer (turn the fraction over) to get the time it will take the two of them working together to paint the house. You will want to convert the improper fraction to hours and minutes when you are done. Hint: 1%2F8 of an hour is 60%2F8=7.5 minutes.
