Problem---Explain in words the steps you would follow to solve √(x- 6)= 5. Give the solution for x.
Here is my answer
Since you cannot separate the terms under the radical until the radical itself is eliminated, you will make the equations on both sides of the sign to the second power. Once this is done sqrtx-6 turns into x-6, and five turns into twenty-five. From here your will add six to both sides, and there is your answer, x=31.

sqrt%2831-6%29=5 Plug in the answer x=31


sqrt%2825%29=5 Subtract
