Question 143350: I believe I have the correct answer, but want to be sure.
Nan can rent a van for either $50 per day with unlimited mileage or $35 per day with 75 free miles and an extra charge of .20 for each mile over 75. For what numbers of miles traveled would the unlimited mileage plan save Nan money? Answer: at least 150 miles
Solution:
50 is greater than or equal to 35+.2(x-75)
To eliminate the decimal, I multiply 50, 35 and .2 by 100:
5000 is greater than or equal to 3500+20(x-75)
Solving for x
x is greater or equal to 150
Did I go about this correctly?

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Nan can rent a van for either $50 per day with unlimited mileage or $35 per day with 75 free miles and an extra charge of .20 for each mile over 75. For what numbers of miles traveled would the unlimited mileage plan save Nan money?
-------------
Plan A:
A(x) = 50
--------------
Plan B:
B(x) = 35+(x-75)0.20
------------------
INEQUALITY
50 < 35 + (x-75)0.20
15 < (x-75)0.20
x-75 > 75
x > 150 miles
===============
You are correct.
