The 2ft walk is built around the outside, that means that the area will be bigger. Imagine a rectable, inside a bigger rectable. With the walk, the dimensions would be 14ft by 16ft. How did I get that?
Since there is a two foot extension on all sides, you need to add 4 ft because there are two sides of 2ft.
Then to find the area, you do the following
Find the area of the pool.
10%2A12=120
Then find the area of the pool with the walk.
14%2A16=224
The subtract the pool from the pool and walk to get only the walk.
224-120=124ft%5E2
Your final answer should be 124+ft%5E2
