You can put this solution on YOUR website! there are 20 people in a room. 8 of them are wearing socks and 13 of them are wearing shoes. 4 people are wearing both.how many are barefooted?
---------------------------
Draw a Venn diagram with two overlapping circles.
Call one circle Socks and the other Shoes.
Put a 4 in the overlap
Put a 4 in the Socks that is not in the overlap
Put a 9 in the Shoes that is not in the overlap
------------------
The circles now contain 4+4+9 = 17.
So, there are 3 who are barefooted.
