Question 14186: my question is regarding perpendicular lines. When you get the slope for one line the slope for the other line is the reciprical, right? So if the original line's m= -2x/3 would the perpendicular line's slope be 3x/2? I'm concerned about the negative sign. Answer by Earlsdon(6294) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Not quite.
The slope of the perpendicular line would be the negative reciprocal of the slope of the original line.
Thus: Oginal line;
Perpendicular line: The negative reciprocal.
