Two families have agreed to meet at a campground for the weekend at 5 p.m. Friday evening. Family A lives due South of the campground and will leave at 2 p.m. traveling 70 mph. Family B lives due North of the campground. They will leave home at 1:45 p.m. traveling at 68 mph. How far apart do the families live?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
-------------------
Draw the picture.
South DATA:
Time = 3 hr ; rate = 70 mph ; distance = 3*70 = 210 miles
--------------
North DATA:
Time = 3.25 hrs ; rate = 68 mph ; distance = 3.25*68 = 221 miles
--------------------
Families live 210+221 miles apart.
