Question 140039: Which of these relations defines Y as a function of X?
a) |x|+y=10
b) x^2+y^2=25
c)x^3+y^3=27
d)x+|y|=20 Answer by rapaljer(4671) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! A and C are functions. If there are y^2 or |y| terms in the equation, then it is NOT a function. Having y or y^3 or y^(odd power) does not prevent it being a function.
