Copper wire - A copper conducting wire measures 84centimeters in length. It is cut into two pieces. The shorter piece is 5 centimeters shorter than the long piece. Find the length of each piece.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Let x = length of smaller piece
x+5 = length of longer piece
x+ x+5 = 84
2x+5=84
2x=79
x=39.5 cm smaller piece
x+5=44.5 cm longer piece
