Question 139618: Here's the problem. I haven't taken math in years.
This is how far I gotton with this one.
The length of a rectangle is 5cm more than its width. The perimeter is 5 times the width. What are the dimensions?
5w=2(5+w)+2w
5w=10+2w+2w
5w=10+4w
Now what

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You almost solved it.
5w+=+10+%2B+4w Subtract 4w from each side and you are left with
5w+-+4w+=+10+%2B+4w+-+4w
1w+=+10 or width (w) = 10. Length is 15 and perimeter 50.
