the center is the midpoint between the vetices and also the co-vertices
__ this means that the length of the major axis is twice the distance from the center to a vertex
__ and the length of the minor axis is twice the distance from the center to a co-vertex

[(x+1)^2/8^2]+[(y-5)^2/4^2]=1 __ multiplying by 64 __ (x+1)^2+4(y-5)^2=64
