First we should put all the numbers on one side
2q^2+q^2-2q+14q+9 = 0
3q^2+12q+9 = 0
Now we can use the quadratic formula

x+=+%28-12%2B-sqrt%2812%5E2-4%283%29%289%29%29%29%2F%282%283%29%29
