Question 138954: I need help answering this question. Will someone please help? Thank you
Describe what the graph of interval [-4,10] looks like.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! The nomenclature typically used to describe an interval is to define the two end points of the interval and then indicate whether those end points are also part of the interval.
If the end point IS to be included in the interval, that end point has a [ or ] next to it. If that endpoint is not included in the interval, then that end point has a ( or ) next to it.
In your case, the end points are -4 and 10. Both endpoints have the bracket [] next to it, so they are both included.
To graph this interval, lay down a number line and mark the points -4 and 10 with an open circle. (A little o). Then, if the point is included in the interval, fill in the inside of the little o (like every standardized test you ever took, use number 2 lead and fill in completely ;) )
If a point is not included, don't fill in the little o .
For this problem, fill in both points and darked the number line between the two points (add in a line segment between the two points).
If the problem had been (-4,10]. then the point at -4 would be 'not filled in'.
And so on.
Get it??
