IF YOU MOVE THEORIGINAL DECIMAL POINT TO THE LEFT TO ACCOMPLISH THIS CHANGE THEN THE NUMBER OF PLACES THE DECIMAL IS MOVED BECOMES THE POSITIVE (+) EXPONENT. IF YOU MOVE THE DECIMAL POINT TO THE RIGHT THE NUMBER OF PLACES BECOMES A NEGATIVE(-) EXPONENT.
