You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2x+-+y+=+-4 is a linear equation containing two variables. It is in the 'standard form' of a line.
You can plot this several ways to see what this relationship is.
2x+-+y+=+-4
-y+=+-2x+-4+
+y+=+2x+%2B+4
If you want to make a table, pick a vlaue for x (say 3) and then plug that into the equation to find the y vlaue that make that equation true
+y+=+2x+%2B+4
+y+=+2%2A3+%2B+4
+y+=+6+%2B+4
+y+=+10
So one point can be plotted as (3,10)
Pick more values for x and find the values for y that result from plugging into the equation.
Once you get comfortable with lines, you will quickly see that all you need to do is plot two points and then draw the line that includes those points.
You will also find that picking 0 for x is a good choice, since it usually makes for an easy calculation.
There are other forms for linear eqauation (point/slope and sloep/intercept). All of these different forms as well as plotting using a table yield the same graph.

I hope this helps you some!
