You can put this solution on YOUR website!
if you FOIL (s+a)(s+b) you get s^2+as+bs+ab or s^2+(a+b)s+ab
__ the coefficient of the s term is the sum of the numbers from the factors
__ and the constant term is the product of the numbers

what two factors of 16 add to -10? __ the 10 is negative and the 16 is positive
__ two negatives add to a negative and multiply to a positive
__ so the factors must be negative

factors of 16 __ -1,-16 __ -2,-8 __ -4,-4
__ -2 and -8 add to -10 and multiply to 16

so s^2-10s+16 factors to (s-2)(s-8)
