Question 137740: the temperature at midnight was 50 degrees. By noon, it had increased to 80 degrees. Find the percent increase in temperature.
I did subtract 80 from 50 - 30. then I took 50 divided by 30 which only gave me 6%. I know that the answer is 60% but I do not understand why (unless I totally did the problem wrong to begin with)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
80-50=30
50/30=.6
.6*100=60%
