SOLUTION: Can someone tell me if I am doing this right? The problem is...1/2|x-2|<4
If I pull the x-2 out of the absolute value, it becomes x+2 so I now have 1/2(x+2)<4. Multiply it out...x

Question 137729: Can someone tell me if I am doing this right? The problem is...1/2|x-2|<4
If I pull the x-2 out of the absolute value, it becomes x+2 so I now have 1/2(x+2)<4. Multiply it out...x + 2/2 < 4. Divide 4 by 2...x + 2/2 < 4/2 So, the answer I get is x < 2.
It seems too easy. Thanks :) Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! 1/2|x-2|<4
Multiply both sides by 2 to get:
|x-2| < 4
That means:
-4 < x-2 < 4
Add 2 along the line to get:
-2 < x < 6
