Question 13766: Calculate the volume in cu. ft. of a drainage pipe that measures 8 feet in
length and 24 inches in diameter. ( remember that all measurements must be in the same units, and be careful that you distinguish between diameter and area when using the formula.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Well, the drainage pipe is a cylinder
The formula for the volume of a cylinder is
V=3.14r%5E2h
If you have trouble memorizing that, there is an easier way. You can find the area of the circle, 3.14r%5E2 and multiply that by the height.
In this case, Height=length
Diameter is 2r (radius)
Radius is 1/2d = 12
V=3.14%2A12%5E2%2A8
V=3.14%2A144%2A8
V=3617.28ft%5E3 Don't forget to label!
