Question 137534: Factor the polynomial f(x). Then solve the equation f(x)=0
f(x)=x^3+4x^2-17x-60
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! x^3+4x^2-17x-60 = 0
-----------------
I graphed it and found a zero at x=4.
Using synthetic division you get:
4)....1....4....-17....-60
.......1....8.....15...|..0
Remainder: 0
Quotient: (x^2+8x+15)
which factors as (x+5)(x+3)
===============
Zeroes at x = 4,x=-5,x=-3
