Question 137517: tutor could you check my work please?
Find the midpoint of the segment with endpoints (5,8) and (-4,12)

=(x^1+x^2/2, y^1+y^2/2)
=(5-4/2, 8+12/2)
=(-1/2, 10)

thank you!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Find the midpoint of the segment whose endpoints are: (5, 8) and (-4, 12).
The midpoint is found by:
(%28x%5B1%5D%2Bx%5B2%5D%29%2F2), (%28y%5B1%5D%2By%5B2%5D%29%2F2) Making the appropriate substitutions, we get:
(%285%2B%28-4%29%29%2F2), (%288%2B12%29%2F2)
(1%2F2, 20%2F2)
(1%2F2, 10)
Your answer is almost right except for the -%281%2F2%29, it should be 1%2F2
