Question 13749: Hey I also have another question I am so sorry. But I don't understand what or how I would do this.
Write an equation of the line that passes through (6,-10) and is perpendicular to the line that passes through (4,-6) and (3,-4).
I have another one that looks similar only it deal with Parallel. so I figure if I get the perp. one then I should be able to figure out how to do the Parallel one. right?

parallel and perp questions with reference to co-ordinate geometry.... the thing to remember:

if 2 lines are parallel, their gradients are equal
if 2 lines are perp, then we know that mn=-1, where m and n are the 2 gradients.

So, you will be given 2 points from which to find a gradient, then the Q will ask for a parallel line (so same gradient) or perp line (so mn=-1 and then find its gradient).

Q will then give you another point...you know (x,y) and gradient so you can find y-intercept...Voila, done!
