Rememeber (4x+6)squared means (4x+6)(4x+6)
Therefore the equation becomes -
(4x+6)(4x+6)= 25
16x^2 + 24x + 24x +36 = 25
16x^2 +48x+ 36 = 25
16x^2 +48x+ 36-25= 0 (collecting like terms)
16x^2 +48x+11= 0
Then we can solve this equation either by factorization, completing the square method or the almighty fomulae.
I will choose factorization.
How do we know which method to use!
Actually by looking at the equation u will be able to tell which of these methods can be applied to solve the equation if u know the fundamentals of those methods.Usually I like to choose factorization first because it is the most easy an uncomplicated method compare to other two methods.
If u can use factorization for any equation that tells you that other two methods can also get the solution to the equation.
However, a factorisation might not be powerful enough to untangle some hard equations but completing the square or the almighty fomulae will solve those equation.
So lets coem back to our task-
By using factorisation.
16x^2 +48x+11= 0
(4x+1)(4x+11)= 0
Therefore-
4x+1=0 OR 4x+11= 0
x= -(1/4) OR x = -(4/11).
