If Chad can paint a room in 2 hours, he can paint 1/2 room per hour. Cassie can then paint 1/3 room per hour.

Together, they can paint 1%2F2%2B1%2F3=3%2F6%2B2%2F6=5%2F6 room per hour. So together they can paint one room in 6%2F5 hour. 6%2F5 is 1 and 1/5. 1/5 hour is 60%2F5=12 minutes. So working together, they can paint the room in 1 hour and 12 minutes.
