You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve the equation
6(5g+2)= 30g
The first thing you want to do is remove the parentheses using the distributive rule.
6 times 5g = 30g
6 times 2 = 12
We now have this equation:
30g + 12 = 30g
If we combine like terms, 30g - 30g = -12, we get an answer with NO SOLUTION.
We get this:
0 = -12, which does not make sense.
This equation has NO SOLUTION for g.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
6%285g%2B2%29=+30g

Use the distributive property:
30g%2B12=30g

Add -30g to both sides of the equation:
30g-30g%2B12=30g-30g
12=0, which, of course is absurd. Therefore there is no number g that satisfies the original equation. In other words, the solution set of 6%285g%2B2%29=+30g is the empty set.

By the way, I for one am getting a bit annoyed by your "Any straightfoward and correct help would be much obliged" tag line every time you submit a question. The implication is that those of us out here volunteering our time are either giving you convoluted and difficult to understand instruction, or just downright wrong answers. I'll be the first to admit that none of us are perfect, but your comment just smacks of disrespect.
