Question 134904: This problem I don't understand due to the fact that it gives me only a few numbers to work with.
Given: log+%284%2C+3%29=+0.7925 and log+%284%2C+5%29=+1.160
The question: log+%284%2C+12%2F5%29
The problem is that I get to where I split up the 12 to 3*4, but that is as far as I got.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Remember that log%28b%2Cx%29%2Blog%28b%2Cy%29=log%28b%2C%28x%2Ay%29%29 and that since log%28b%2Cx%29=y=>b%5Ey=x, log%28b%2Cb%29=1.

So: log%284%2C12%29=log%284%2C%283%2A4%29%29=log%284%2C3%29%2Blog%284%2C4%29=log%284%2C3%29%2B1

That and remembering the fact that log%28b%2Cx%29-log%28b%2Cy%29=log%28b%2C%28x%2Fy%29%29 should get you through the rest of this one.
