You can put this solution on YOUR website!
four years ago, katie was twice as old as anne was then. in 6 years, anne will be the same age that katie is now. how old is each now?
-------------------------------------
Four years ago DATA:
Let Ann's age be x ; Then Katie's age was 2x.
-----------------------------
6 years from now Ann's age will be "x+10"
Katies's age NOW is "2x+4"
-----------------------------
EQUATION:
x+10 = 2x+4
x = 6
------------
Katie's age NOW is 2x+4 = 2*6+4 16 yrs old
Ann's age NOW is x+4 = 6+4 = 10 yrs old
