First of all, you need to do the distributive property as many times as necessary to get rid of parentheses. By doing this, you will get:
2%28k-12%2B6k%29=2k-6%2B3
2k-24%2B12k+=+2k-6%2B3
Now that you have that, add like terms to get 14k-24+=+2k-3.
Move everything with a k to one side of the equal sign and everything without a k to the other side of the equal sign to get 12k+=+21. Divide by 12 to get k=%2821%2F12%29.

First open all the brackets (BODMAS)
You will have 2k-24+12k = 2k-6+3
Arrange the same terms together(e.g 2k+3k)
Now you will have 2k-2k+12k = 24-6=3
Cancel +2k with -2k
You will have 12k = 24-6+3
12k = 18+3
12k = 21
Divide 21 by 12
k =(21/12)
