You can put this solution on YOUR website! Find the two digit number whose tens digit is 3 less than the unit digit. The orginal number is 6 more than 4 times the sum of the digits
-----------------------
Every 2-digit number can be written as 10t+u where t is the tens and u is
the units digit.
----------------
EQUATIONS:
t = u-3
10t+u = 4(t+u)+6
---------------------
Rearranging the equations:
t = u-3
6t-3u=6
----------
Simplifying:
t = u-3
2t-u = 2
--------------
Substitute to solve for "u":
2(u-3)-u = 2
u-6 = 2
u = 8
------------
Substitute to solve for "t":
t = 8-3 = 5
--------------------
Original Number: 58
