Question 131494: I have a TI-83 and I want to know how to graph a Logarithmic spiral with the geometric progression of 1.4.
I believe the equation is:
r = ae^(b[theta])
In fact I want to know how this spiral can be graphed by hand...
Thanks one million!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
have a TI-83 and I want to know how to graph a Logarithmic spiral with the geometric progression of 1.4.
I believe the equation is:
r = ae^(b[theta])
In fact I want to know how this spiral can be graphed by hand...
--------------
Your equation is an exponential equaation.
It is either an increasing function (b>1) or a decreasing
function (0 < b < 1)
----------------
You will not get a spiral graph out of it because the
TI-83 uses the Real Number line as its domain.
----------------
If you want theta to run from 0 to 2pi and then 0 to 2pi
repeatedly you would have to plot your points and see
how the curve is affected.
---------------------------------
Also, keep in mind, the TI can only plot functions. If
there are two or more y values associated with any x-value
the TI cannot graph it.
