You can put this solution on YOUR website!
8x^2 + 6x – 5
8*-5=-40
What 2 factors of -40 when added equal 6? Ans: 10, -4
8x^2-4x+10x-5 Multiply those 2 numbers by x and replace +6x in the original equation with them (in either order!).
=4x(2x-1)+5(2x-1) Factoring by grouping
=(4x+5)(2x-1)
.
