You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Depends on whether you need the total surface area of the cylinder or the lateral surface area. The total surface area includes the area of the two circles that form the bases of the cylinder, the lateral surface area excludes these:

Lateral Surface Area: 2%2Api%2Arh. That is because if you cut the cylinder and laid it out flat, you would have a rectangle that was the height in one dimension and the circumference of the base, 2%2Api%2Ar in the other dimension.

Total Surface Area: 2%2Api%2Arh%2B2%2Api%2Ar%5E2. That is because you start with the lateral surface area and add the area of the two circles that form the bases, 2 times pi%2Ar%5E2.

Just as a matter of courtesy to those of us who take the time to answer your questions, please be more specific about what you want. Take the time to present the entire question. None of us have access to your textbooks, workbooks, or worksheets, and none of us can read minds. You will also get a much better response if you tell us what you have tried and specifically what you are having trouble understanding.
