Question 130912: Find the sum of the infinite series. If the series does not have a sum write "no sum". The series is:
9 - 3 + 1 - 1/3 + 1/9. . .
I am not sure where I got n/3 from but seem to think it has something to do with solving this.
Thanks so much for your help

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
THE SUM OF AN INFINITE SERIERS IS:
S=A/(1-R) WHERE A=THE FIRST TERM & R=THE RATIO.
S=9/[1-(-1/3)]
S=9/(1+1/3)
S=9/(4/3)
S=9(3/4)
S=27/4
S=6.75 ANSWER.
