9+5x=7x-3 nine more than five times a number-rewrite as 9+5x
is equal to- rewrite as =
3 less than seven times the number-means 3 subtracted from 7x
rewrite as 7x-3 . Now you have the equation to be solved.
Subtract 7x from both sides of the equation
9-2x=-3
Subtract 9 from both sides.
-2x=-12
Divide both sides by -2
x=6
