SOLUTION: Twice the difference of seven times a number and four yields the same result as the same number increased by six. I have tried 7(n-2)+4=n+6 and 2(7n+4)=n+6 but neither sounded r

Question 130398: Twice the difference of seven times a number and four yields the same result as the same number increased by six.
I have tried 7(n-2)+4=n+6 and 2(7n+4)=n+6 but neither sounded right. This is for a class but is not out of a book. I do not have to solve it. I just have to translate it.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
your second equation is very close

the problem states "Twice the difference of seven times a number and four"
__ with the key word being "difference"

the +4 should be -4
