You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y%282-y%29=6-%28y%5E2%2B3y-4%29

Distribute and remove parentheses, paying careful attention to signs:
2y-y%5E2=6-y%5E2-3y%2B4

Collect terms
2y-y%5E2=-y%5E2-3y%2B10

Add y%5E2%2B3y to both sides:
2y-y%5E2%2By%5E2%2B3y=10

Collect terms
5y=10

Divide by 5
y+=+2

Check:
2%282-2%29=6-%282%5E2%2B3%282%29-4%29
0=6-%284%2B6-4%29=6-6=0 Answer checks.
