Question 129586: I need to know what the 1st and 2nd number in an ordered pair are called.
Answer by bucky(2189) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! By convention the form of an ordered pair is (x, y). So the first number in an ordered
pair is the "x-coordinate," and the second number in the ordered pair is the "y-coordinate."
.
You may also see the first number in an ordered pair called the "abscissa" and the second number
in the ordered pair called the "ordinate."
.
Hope this is what you are looking for.
