You can put this solution on YOUR website!
When your dealing with domain of functions, and you have fractions you are looking for any place where the denominator of that fraction would be equal to zero. These are the places that CAN NOT be part of your domain since division by zero is illegal.
For example, +1%2Fx+ what values of x would cause you to divide by 0?
When X = 0, so the domain of +1%2Fx+ would be any number EXCEPT 0

If you have +1%2F%28x%2B5%29+ what number would cause you to divide by zero?
If you are unsure, set the denominator equal to zero and solve.
+x+%2B+5+=+0+ subtract 5
+x+=+-5+
So the domain of +1%2F%28x%2B5%29+ would be any number EXCEPT -5
Hope that helps, Mr. C
