You can put this solution on YOUR website! A quarter is flipped and the out come is noted. If a head results, then a die is rolled. If a tail results, then the quarter is flipped a second time.
a. How many different outcomes are possible?
h1,h2,h3,h4,h5,h6,
th1,th2,th3,th4,th5,th6
OR
h1,h1,h2,h4,h5,h6
---------------------
Comment: It is hard to tell from the problem discription what follows
from tt on the 1st two flips of the quarter.
----------------------
b. Make a tree diagram to list the sample space for the possible outcomes.
The roots of the tree are h and t
The branches on the h are 1,2,3,4,5,6
The branch on the t is h followed by 1,2--6, or t followed by
h etc. or t
--------------
