Use the quadratic formula:
x=%283%2B-sqrt%28%28-3%29%5E2-4%282%29%285%29%29%29%2F%282%282%29%29
x=%283%2B-sqrt%28-31%29%29%2F4
This equation has no solution because we can not take the square root of a negative. So no solution.
(If you are in advance algebra or higher, you can learn something called imaginary numbers which helps you take the square root out of a negative number)
