the general equation for this parabola is x=ay^2+by+c
__ horizontal axis of symmetry

since the vertex is at the origin, the "b" and "c" coefficients are both zero
__ this means x=ay^2

substituting the given point __ 2=a(-2sqrt(2))^2 __ 2=8a __ 1/4=a

x=(1/4)y^2
