You can put this solution on YOUR website!

x-y=4 Start with the given equation

-y=4-x Subtract +x from both sides

-y=-x%2B4 Rearrange the equation

y=%28-x%2B4%29%2F%28-1%29 Divide both sides by -1. Remember, -y really looks like -1y

y=%28-1%2F-1%29x%2B%284%29%2F%28-1%29 Break up the fraction

y=x-4 Reduce

So the equation is now in slope-intercept form (y=mx%2Bb) where the slope is m=1 and the y-intercept is b=-4
